drama project went well.

Another groups project was also very good.  It was entitled “The Whole Dam Family”.  Haha.. this is a great thing to post just after I signed the edge guestbook and told people from there to come here.  Oh well.  Maybe it will attract the edge’s wayward students to Southeastern.  Anyway, this is obviously a play on words… you know… Dam… Damn?  yeah.  It’s about like some singing/performing group called the Dam Family….  Van Dam and his sisters.  Anyway, it was great… cuz like the whole time they would be talking about the “Dam” family, and the “dam” bus, and the “dam” music…..  so on, and so on, and so on.  It was quite amusing.

Anyway, need to be working on my project now….  for American lit.  I think I will actually go to class and hand it in tomorrow.

Well, the performance of my drama project is coming up in less then an hour…. the initial nervousness has set in.  It has been awhile since I have done any drama stuff… I dunno if I’m as used to the feeling as I used to be….  Hopefully it will fade prior to actually doing it….  if not, oh well.

More after it’s done, maybe, if i feel like writing then.

Hmmm… was just on the Five Iron Frenzy message board…. just reading some stuff… came across a post that had something interesting in it.  It is Reese Roper’s response to this discussion about whether the nails in Jesus’ crucifixion went in his hands or his wrists.  Anyway, I just think it’s interesting because I have never really thought much of it before, I was always told by people that it was in his wrists, and I just accepted that… cuz.. it doesn’t really matter where they went.  But anyway, yeah, I never even thought about the fact that the bible definately says hands.  Anyway, here’s what he said:

“I disagree. It sounds like you kids have been listening to somne junior-scientist type Christian jerk guys, making a big deal out of nothing.
1. Why does it matter where the nail went, as long as Jesus died? What does anatomy have to do with atonement?
2. John 20:20 After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord.
– The Bible, in English clearly uses the word “hands”. Whether this is the proper Greek translation or not, It still works for writing songs in ENGLISH.
3. What do you know about anatomy and history? Historically, most crucifixions were done by TYING the condemned person to the cross. Nails were too expensive, unless they were going to be reused. Most evidence of crucifixion points out that nails were not a common thing. HOWEVER, to fulfill Biblical prophecy, Jesus had to be “pierced for our transgressions”. Ask any doctor what happens when you put a nail through someones Radial or Ulnar Arteries. If you put a nail through someones wrist, unless you knew exactly where to put it, you would probably cause them to bleed to death within the span of about 20 minutes. Yes, if you hung someone to a cross by their hands, the nails would pull through the flesh, but most historians and scientists believe that Jesus was ALSO tied to the cross.
4. This is perhaps the most stupid, inane, jejune arguement in the history of Christianity. I’m sorry I took part in it.”

All for now.

Well, I certainly am tired…. I will be going to sleep shortly.  Tomorrow is monday, so that means I must wake up and stuff.  Blah.  That’s no fun.  Oh well.

I missed practice for our short play thing tonight….  which sucks.  I was sitting here doing stuff, and totally forgot about it.  I looked at the clock and realized I was an hour late, so I ran over to where we were supposed to meet, but no one was there…. so I dunno what happened… I feel pretty bad about it though, cuz we really need to go over it.  Nothing I can really do about it though, unfortunately.

Heard from Karissa earlier today… apparently she shall be attending school here at squirrel-infested southeastern next year.  That of course assumes she is accepted, but I don’t think she has to fear anything there.  Like Southeastern would turn someone away 😛  Anyway, that will be fun I am sure.  Will probably seem weird for a bit too… going from not seeing her at all like for a really long time to living at the same school.  But, yeah.

Anyway, I also have determined that people take things way too seriously and are way too uptight about stuff.  Especially Christians when it comes to God and stuff.  I mean really, don’t you think God would have a sense of humor?  I mean, he’s God.  I don’t think he suffers from any kind of insecurity.  So why should my saying something like “ha!  God, who does he think he is anyway… some kind of God or something?” offend him?  Such things, when said sarcastically, actually concede that the opposite of that which is said is true.  So that statement would be fully recognizing the “Godness” of God.  You see?  I don’t know.  People are dumb.  Their loss.  They shall simply have to be offended by me 😉  And I will laugh at them.  Ok, maybe I won’t, but still… I might.

Anyway, many blessings upon everyone who reads this post, comments, and gives me eprops…..  and many curses upon all who read this and do not comment and give me eprops…. to the latter I say, may God smite thee and your mothers.

That is all.

Hmmm… well, sorry I missed posting yesterday…. and most of today 🙂  I have been occupied….  doing other stuff.

Went to a play last night.  A Midsummer Night’s Dream.  It was pretty good.  Not amazing… but good.  I enjoyed it.

And other then that I have been playing Final Fantasy 8.  I enjoy it too.  I love Final Fantasy games… simply for the storylines.  I really like this one.  At first I thought Squall was really weird but now I’m starting to identify with him a lot…. lol.  Perhaps I too have probelms.

Then I just now watched the Simpsons… a clips episode… how disappointing.  Oh well.  What can you do?

At any rate, I really don’t have muc to say 🙂  sorry to diassapoint.  Perhaps I will write more later, If I think of something.

Godspeed.

Today was chocolate day in the cafeteria.  It was quite enjoyable.  It is the day where they say “come, eat much chocolate and become very fat”.  And everyone comes, and eats their own body weight in chocolate.  While all this is going on, we listen to the Willy Wonka soundtrack, and midgets dressed as oompa loompas are dancing.

Ok, so there were no midgets.  But it would have been great if there were.  Midgets bring great joy to all, especially to me.  It is a gift that they have.

I am presently wondering why no one has called me to tell me where to meet to rehearse our short play.  hmmm….  oh well… *waits*…

all for now.

Fun times….. fun times.  Actually getting into some enjoyable classes this time around.

Wow… didn’t think that that would take so long 🙂

Just got done fixing Karen’s computer.  Took about 2 hours.  That’s ok… I think I can take 2 hours being the only guy in the girl’s dorms… muahaha.  😉  lol.  Anyway, I got most of it working, but I couldn’t find the stupid video drivers… so she is stuck with 16 colors… Oh well.  It could be worse, right?  she could have 8.  Or greyscale…. *shrugs*… and to think… over the summer I may have a job doing stuff like that… wow… getting PAID to do it… that would be something.  Hopefully that will happen.  Would be better thenother jobs I’m sure.

Anyway, on the way back some fellow students informed me of how it was forbidden for me to have been in the girls’ dorm.  To my reply that I had been helping her with her computer, they replied “oh, so THAT’S what they’re calling it now?”, to which I replied, “yes, that is what we are calling it now.”  At this point we weren’t really sure if we were talking about computers or sex, so we all just sort of stood there and looked at each other for awhile. They were then savagely attacked by squirrels.  It was tragic.

Everything in the previous paragraph is true, except the parts that are obviously lies.

So anyway, there is only one real chapel left…. and then we get to experience one more……  it is the chapel I affectionately refer to as “the chapel from hell.”  Ok, so maybe that is not affectionately.  It is the chapel during which they give out academic awards to those that are graduating and such.  I am not graduating.  I am not getting awards.  Why do I want to be there?  I’ll tell you why.  If I don’t go they will make me pay $20.  Speaking of which, I need to go pay my one chapel fine which I have incurred tomorrow.  I will be overjoyed to be freed from chapel.  I wouldn’t mind it… they’re cool services and all.. it’s just…  geez… I could sleep until NOON tomorrow if it wasn’t for chapel… because of it, I have to wake up at 9:30 (if not sooner).  And can you believe that NEXT SEMESTER, they will be moving chapel to NINE instead of TEN?  They are making it earlier, to make it even more hellish.  I am not happy about that.  But I will worry about that next year.  Maybe over the summer God will unheathenize me and make me like chapel next year.  Probably not, but hey.

Anyway, things continue to not all work for the best, but I think they’ll turn out ok.. hopefully….

Until next time… keep watching out for them squirrels….

Squirrel related deaths in Lakeland since last post: 16.7

I just got out of drama practice.  It was long.  It was painful at the end because we were all tired.  But it was fun.  I really like the play we are doing.  It is quite funny…  and I get to live something very wonderful through my character… however, I also got stuck with this whole “fairy” thing….  but I have been assured that my character is not, in fact, gay, so don’t worry.  However, considering the fact I have to do a Peter Pan pose, and Peter Pan was played by a girl… it’s still not looking good.  So yeah…  it is fun.  I’m glad the other people in it are good at feeling comfortable doing all the stuff, cuz if they weren’t, then I wouldn’t be.  And we don’t have very long to work on it… so.. yeah.  Anyway, I have determined again that I really do love doing drama….

All for now.
