I am still slacking on updating this.  I don’t know why.  I just am.

I have watched a lot of episodes of the Wonder Years the last few
days….  it was an excellent show.  Kevin and Winnie have
broken up now… i’m.. midway through season 4… i’m getting to the
episodes that I haven’t seen in FOREVER….   it’s good.

Anyway, I have work tonight.  That sucks.  I don’t want to
work tonight.  Hopefully it will be slow.  Although slow can
be boring.  I know I will be tired, and so slow and boring will be
better then busy.

Tomorrow I don’t work though.  That will be nice.  Tomorrow
should be a nice easy day actually… since one of my classes is
cancelled.

I don’t actually know what to write about.  I think maybe I will watch more wonder years.

So now I am forced to be interested in the next xbox…  because
well… a Final Fantasy author will be making 2 games for it…

So… it has been awhile since I posted.  I’m not really sure
why…  I just.. haven’t.  Not like that’s a bad thing, my
posts aren’t terribly interesting anyway.  I am almost done
reading Chainfire.  It is quite good, I am going to be quite upset
when I reach the end and I have to wait a good year to read the second
third of it 😉

Anyway, let’s see…  I have been playing a game called Tales of
Symphonia on my GameCube.  That game alone has made the purchase
well worth it.  Seriously, if you like RPGs, go and buy it.
If you don’t have a gamecube, then buy a gamecube, and then go and buy
it.  You will not be disappointed.  My hatred for cell
shading is fading, i guess, as this is the 2nd cell shaded game that I
have deemed to be good.  Maybe this and X-Men Legends are just
good in spite of their cell-shaded-ness, I guess.  That leaves
hope for Wind Waker, which I still haven’t really played yet, but
always thought I would hate because of that.

Hmmm… I have to work tonight, even though I wasn’t
scheduled….  that is never fun… to think you have a day of
freedom, and then have it stripped away.  It is for the best
though… I was only on the schedule for 16 hours this week, this will
bump me up to 20, which should help me out with the whole iPod thing…
which brings me to….

The whole iPod thing.  If you are not aware, Apple made several
updates to the line yesterday, with major updates to the iPod
mini.  The mini is more enticing then it used to be, but I don’t
think I would ever strongly consider getting one until it gets to a 10
gig capacity.  The color screen that was rumored to be with it
would help, too (but, that turned out to be just a rumor).
Anyway, the iPod I *WAS* looking at getting is no more.  The 40
gig iPod was eliminated… but… a 30 gig iPod photo was introduced…
at a mere $50 above the 20 gig iPod.  Now, my clear choice is the
30 gig photo.  Though I have to say… the 60 gig photo is quite
tempting…..  hmmm….  Anyway, that is another 2 weeks
away….  due to that whole gamecube purchase thing.

Anyway, I have class in an hour or so… and I want to read some more of Chainfire… hopefully finish it at some point today.

Speaking of video games, I ended up buying a Game Cube
yesterday….  it’s not as random as it might seem….  there
have long been several games I was like…  “I’d really like to
play that…. if only it wasn’t such a crappy system…”
but…  it got cheap enough that I decided it was worth it… for
the number of games that i want to play that are game cube
only….  at any rate, i bought a refurbished one, for $60… not
bad at all… and a fun RPG called Tales of Symphonia.

I thinik it’s going to set me back 1 more paycheck on the ipod… but that’s ok.

Also, I was reading The Inquirer site yesterday….  and they put
up an interesting article on Apple and their potential use of the cell
processor.  And it looks like that is going to happen, which is
REALLY cool, as speculation says that cell is going to kick the crap
out of the x86 (wintel). Anyway, here it is.  Also, ThinkSecret’s
speculation/rumors forums have an interesting thread related to this.

So…. when are we going to stop blaming
videogames
and realize that there is probably some deeper cause to violence?

Because I mean, as we all know, murder didn’t exist until we had videogames to “teach us” how to do it.

Oh wait, yeah it did… murder existed a looong time before
videogames… as did crime…. hmmm… well, there goes that theory.

My dvd burner arrived today.

I can’t wait to install it into my computer…. and start burning away
😉  However, first I am going to require some blank dvds….
hmmmmmm…..

A trip to Best Buy may be in order…

I miss LA…..

I should have gone to the NRB thing there……..

Too bad I didn’t have money at the time I needed it. 😛

Well, I have finally ordered a dvd burner.  I was looking at an external drive from Lacie, this one right here….
but, as you can see if you click on that link, that drive costs
$220.  That is not far off of other external drives of similar
capabilities.  I was able to find another Lacie drive, which
slightly less capability, for about $120…..but then I was just
like… well, maybe I will just get an internal drive….  So I
went to newegg, and popped up the page, and saw this NEC dvd burner….
for just a little over $60….  that’s like… a fourth of the
price of the one i initially wanted…. and half the price of the other
one.  That’s not bad.  Also, shipping is free.

So I should get that sometime this week…..

In addition, I will be ordering an iPod, come next paycheck, as I feel the time has come to do so 😉  So.. 2 more weeks.

“Sometimes you have to be brave
and let things fall where they
will
it’s not yours to decide how this night will be
sometimes
you have to be brave
enough to stop the worrying
that keeps
you further from the place you’re heading

the rain will come
you can’t stop that or hurry it up
so
bury the guilt
It’s not your fault
everything he did
I don’t
wanna risk anything
so I’m standing still
I’ll be right here
when you come to find me
control is comforting
maybe I should
be running
if I controlled anything
I’d be scared of the place
that I’d be
I thank you for saving me

when the time is right
I swear my day will come
the sweetest
storm
will blow through this town and carry us out
so take a
look around
and see how it’s coming down
to wash you blood
and bone from the inside out

the rain will come
you can’t stop that or hurry it up
so
bury the guilt
it’s not your fault
all that he did
I don’t
wanna risk anything
so I’m standing still
I’ll be right here
when you come to find me
control is comforting
maybe I should
be running
if I controlled anything
I’d be scared of the place
that I’d be
I thank you for saving me”

“Who draws the crowd?

Who plays so loud?

Baby, it’s the guitar man

Who’s gonna steal the show?

You know

Baby, it’s the guitar man

He can make you love, he can make you cry

He will bring you down, he will get you high

And something keeps him going miles and miles away

To find another place to play

And night after night, who treats you right?

Baby, it’s the guitar man

Who’s on the radio?

You know

Baby, it’s the guitar man

When he comes to town and you see his face

And you think you might like to take his place

Something keeps him drifting miles and miles away

Searching for the songs to play

Then you listen to the music and you’d like to sing along

And you want to get the meaning out of each and every song

And you find yourself a message and some words to call your own

And take ’em home

He can make you love, he can get you high

He will bring you down, he will make you cry

Something keeps him moving, but no one seems to know

What it is that makes him go

Then the lights begin to flicker and the sound is getting dim

The voice begins to falter and the crowds are getting thin

But he never seems to notice

He’s just got to find another place to play

Anyway

Got to play

Anyway
