The Grudge was kinda lame.  I didn’t like it very much.  Stick with watching I Heart Huckabees.

Daylight savings sucks.  sure, i get an extra hour of sleep… but
at what cost?  starting tomorrow, it will begin getting dark at
5:30!  And continue this for some months to come.  That sucks.

Bye.

The participation award goes to Kristen, who is the only one to respond
to all 3 questions, although, on the quest one…. that was kind of a
copout… but, any response is better then no response at all.

From now on maybe you should comment more….  on EVERYTHING I write… then maybe you would get participation awards too.

I Heart Huckabees was quite good.  If you have the means, I highly
reccommend going to see it sometime in the near future.  My
roommate saw it a week or 2 ago and did not like it, but I found it to
be quite humorous.  As we all know, my opinion is the most
important, so go and watch it and laugh and so forth.

All you need to know going in is “existential comedy”.

Movies awaiting my viewing: Saw, The Grudge, Team America, Primer.

Maybe more.  But I think those 4 next.

“It is so that my transgressions have born a withered fruit,
The sun has scorched the rising plants; alas they have no root.
The bleached bones of animals bound by leather strips,
Dance through the air with laughter as I wield this wicked whip.

As you did warn me carpenter, this world has weakened my heart
So easily I disparage, self-seeking the work of my art,
And there you have come to me, at the moment I bathe in my sorrow,
So in love with myself, sought after avoiding tomorrow,
Where do you find the love to offer he who betrays you?
And offer to wash my feet as I offer to disobey you,
Your beauty does bereave me, and how my words do fail,
So faithfully and dutifully I award you with betrayal.

The weak and the downtrodden fall on broken legs,
As I walk past a smile I cast, fervor in my stead.
But my bones like plastic, do buckle backward now,
I lay in this field by Judas and anticipate the plow,
I can not be forgiven; my wages will be paid,
For those more lovely and admirable is least among the saved,
And where would I fit Jesus?
What place is left for me?
The price of atonement is more than I’ve found to offer up as my plea.

Jesus, my heart is all I have to give to you,
So weak and so unworthy, this simply will not do.
No alabaster jar, no diamond in the rough,
For your body that was broken, how can this be enough?
By me you were abandoned, by me you were betrayed,
Yet in your arms and in your heart forever I have stayed.
Your glory illuminates my life, and no darkness will descend,
For you have loved me forever, and your love will never end.”

Dear Friends of Roper

We are very proud to announce that Roper’s debut CD is now in stores
everywhere and you guys were a big part of making that happen! The
ball campaign was a HUGE success and not only caught the interest of
the retailers but helped us blow away EMI’s first month shipment
goal.

We could really use your help this week in getting EMI to make Roper
a priority for this fall. As you remember, the challenge they gave us
was to sell 3,500 CDs the first week, which according to the head guy
would put us “high on their radar” but he doesn’t think we
can do it.

You guys have been AMAZING in supporting Roper for the last several
months and we are very grateful for that. If we could ask you one
more favor you would officially be our best friends.

We want to tell as many people as we can that the Roper CD is now in
stores and that it would help us a ton if they bought it the first
week – by this Sunday. Send emails to your friends, post messages on
boards, make announcements… anything you can think of. We would
greatly appreciate your help this week!

You can let your friends know that Roper’s “Brace Yourself for
the Mediocre” is available at Christian bookstores, Best Buy,
Wal-Mart, mall stores, Tower Records, Amazon.com and tons of other
places where music is sold. The first week sales numbers starts today
and ends Sunday! We’ll get a report next Wednesday and hopefully
we’ll get EMI’s full attention.

In closing, I would also like to invite all of you to the final 30
shows of the fall tour. The current list of cities we are playing can
be found at www.roperisdumb.com or www.itickets.com. We are having a
BLAST on tour and love hanging out with all our friends.

Thanks again for all your help and support for Roper and for helping
us get the word out about the new CD. We truly think we have the
best fans in the world.

Sincerely,

Frank, Roper and the 5 Minute Walk Family
