10. Girls are stupid

Well… tonight there was a Halo tournament here on campus. In theory, this should have been good fun and I should have been able to do some serious killing. However, as we all know, things do not always work out as they do in theory.

Unfortunately, the rules stated we were to play without radar. As I do not normally do this, that made it much more difficult for me. Anyway, first game was teams of 3…. Jason Brown, Zack, and I…. We lost in the first round, but I will have you know I did my part… it was they who were slacking 😉 I had 16 kills (which was the average of what the people on the other team had)… zack had 3… and Jason Brown? a whopping 2 😉 That’s ok though. The other team was in fact quite good. Anyway, next game was teams of 2. Zack and I. We just plain got the crap kicked out of us. I don’t even know how many kills we got. Not enough to mention ;). So it was a shameful night…. we walked away depressed… and $2 poorer then when we came.

But when I got back here I hooked up to the network and took on 2 people vs. one of me…. and I defeated them. So I felt much better… even though one of them sucked horribly and the other wasn’t all that great. It still made me feel better about myself. And then we played a few more games on the network…. it was fun times. Except for the tournament. That sucked.

And now I will go to sleep. I hope you all have had a wonderful weekend….

I installed linux on my computer…. I am trying to install a program. It is installed (I think) but I have no idea where it is. I also have no idea how to find it. So I am just kind of sitting here staring at the screen wishing i knew what to do.

Anyway, I just have some more stuff I want to share. First of all…. check out this screen shot from a game called Dragon Empires. I think it’s pretty stinking awesome… and whether you like computer games or not… I think that you should think it is pretty cool too:



Also, earlier today I downloaded mp3s of a demo cd recorded by David Bazan (of Pedro the Lion fame) in 1994. And I have to tell you… this is really awesome stuff. But it’s almost impossible to believe it was written by the same guy that wrote Control 🙂 They are vastly different. Anyway, it’s all just acoustic guitar and him singing. It’s really simple and I think that’s why I like it so much.

20) Story behind your journal user name: Once upon a time I used IRC (Internet Relay Chat for you non-computer-internet-saavy people), and for a time, it was good. I used multiple nicknames on it… ummm.. probably my longest running one was creation, which was sometimes shortened to just Crea. I don’t remember why I used that one, but it is of no relation to the Creation festival, as was sometimes thought. Anyway, Reese came about because one day I decided it would be fun to see if I could convince people on IRC that I was Reese Roper, of Five Iron Frenzy. Anyway, another friend of mine impersonated some other member of Five Iron… I don’t remember who he was impersonating… but anyway, we had a lot of people actually believing us… but don’t worry, we told them later that we weren’t really. Anyway, my friend went back to his old nick, but I just sort of kept mine. and ummm… never got around to changing it. The 268 just comes from the fact that Reese was taken, and for some reason I have a strange fascination with the number 268. So there you have it.

Yeah, so anyway, I discovered that like every girl that I have really been interested in like at all in the last… fairly long time now…. this song seems to fit the case exactly. So I guess I kind of have had more pre-ex-girlfriends then i can count. Maybe I will compile a list someday. There’s a girl that i’m kind of interested in in one of my classes though…. she’ll probably get added to the pre-ex-girlfriend list too… but hey… what can you do?

mmmm… tropical punch kool-aid. I decided I really wanted kool-aid when i was at walmart a little bit ago. it is the best decision i ever made. it is nutritious and delicious. well, probably not too terribly nutritious, but it is darn good. I reccomend it to you all. go and buy some. i suggest tropical punch. but under no circumstances should you boil the water and pour like 5 pounds of sugar into it….. trust me on this, it will make you want to vomit. it is better the traditional way.

anyway, i have to wake up at 6:30 in the morning to go to crew call. So I am going to head to sleep now.

Btw, some fun stuff happened today… was a better day then i thought it would be. Stick with me on the prayers though…. I’m still sure to need ’em.

I am now back at school. I have my first class since break… in about an hour. So I decided I will use this time to write a little something here for ya.

These last few weeks have been interesting for lots of reasons. There have been some extreme highs, extreme lows, and even some stuff right in the middle. Anyway, it has been kind of stressful at times…. it’s been kind of depressing at times. And more then just any one situation factors into this. But in my trying to get through it all, I sort of realized something… and that is the fact that it is forcing me to rely on God. Which I know is a good thing, but well… to be perfectly honest, it is kind of a frightening thing as well (to me anyway.)

So that may sound kind of odd to you, I don’t know. What could be frightening about relying on God? Well, I’ll tell you what it is that scares me about it. If I rely on God to fix something in my life, then it is entirely up to Him what will become of that. Or say I am relying on God to bring me the most incredible girl to someday marry…. to me, that is somewhat scary, because… what if God doesn’t want me to get married? Do you see what I’m saying? For me to not have any ability or control whatsoever makes it a very scary thing. But I guess at a certain point you have no choice. And for me, that point has come.

Anyway, I would really appreciate it if you all would pray for me in this. Some of you know speciffic things you could pray for, and perhaps others of you don’t. That doesn’t matter. God knows. If you desire to know anything… just talk to me sometime… I will probably be able to tell you at least a little bit.
