Minesweeper is a frigging hard game.

I am going to beat it on expert.  Just you wait and see.  Beginner and Intermediate have already been achieved tonight.  It’s only a matter of time.  I am a very determined person when I want to be.

I am going home in a few days!  Only for a few days, but well…  it will be cool anyway.  Too bad I have to drive my own car.  I wanted to just have to ride along.  Oh well.

Saw Red Dragon last night.  It is an EXCELLENT movie.  I thought so anyway.  Very intense, so I don’t know that I reccomend it to everyone (This means if you are like Karen, and flip out and nearly have a heart attack during Minority Report… do not go see this movie ;)).  But yeah, best movie I’ve seen since the summer I think.

I also watched “The Thing”.  Was playing the new xbox game based on it a few days ago, and I thought… you know.. I’ve never seen the movie… and the storyline in this game is pretty interesting… so.. yeah.  I watched it this morning.  Psychological horror movie.  I love movies that thrive on fear and paranoia.  Don’t watch The Cube, cuz I’m sure you’d hate it, but umm.. yeah… I liked it ;).  Anyway, if you’re in the mood for an older semi-scary horror movie with out of date special effects… The Thing is for you ;).

I need to start running again tonight.  Stupid Jon was down here and so I haven’t been.  What can I say?  I am easily distracted from doing that which I need to do.  So yeah, Jon left.  We wept for a few hours when he had to leave, because we will not see each other until thursday.  True story.  Except the part where we wept.

I am going now.  Goodbye.

Wow I’m tired… awake purely on caffeine… it is dangerous to be writing when I’m like this… I may write stuff that makes no sense, or that is completely retarded, and then I will have no memory of writing it.. but umm.. oh well.  I promised an update, and here it is ;).

Watched a movie outside of Karen’s room earlier.  Was pretty fun.  The movie was Showtime.  Fairly decent movie.  Probably won’t watch it again, but it was worth seeing.  Then we played WarCraft for a couple hours.  And now Jon wants me to play som Unreal Tournament.  He is leaving tomorrow, so I figure I should.

Anyway, StarCraft: Ghost looks like a frigging awesome game.  I can’t wait.  Too bad it is scheduled for end of next year and Blizzard I don’t think has EVER come even relatively close to meeting a deadline ;).  Anyway, go to Blizzard.com and check it out.

Oh, and guess who is coming all the way from Germany to go to the lovely, squirrel-infested, Southeastern College?  That’s right, it’s Karissa.  Will be fun.

Umm.. I’m tired.  None of this sounds interesting at all.  I’m sorry.

One day, I’ll write something and it will be cool.  Maybe.  Until then, you’re going to have to deal with this.

Oh, this is a stinking hilarious site… I laughed for a long time: it’s a “warcraft 3 strategy guide”: http://www.somethingawful.com/jeffk/WARTCARFT3/

That is all.

Bye.

Update still coming later tonight.  Really.  Truly.

The lyrics to this song are awesome 😉

“I don’t even like the taste of blood.
But it was all they had for sale today.
And this is hunger that just won’t go away.
I was taught to drink my fill of you
You were taught to take take take from me.

The more I taste the more I need
The more it (you) makes me ill.

You are a sight for hungry eyes today
I am needing more of you inside of me
I am nothing more then what they’ve made of me.

The more I taste the more I need
The more it (you) makes me ill.

And when my objects become used
I throw them all away
And when I need another fill
I’ll turn to you again.”

Darn it.  I hate it when 8 a.m. classes are cancelled and I don’t find out about it until I wake up and go to the stinking class.  I could have slept another whole hour, but am now unable to, because I have chapel at 9 and sleeping at this point is pointless.

Oh well.  So… yes Heather, Jon is in fact here.  He is sleeping on the floor just behind me as I type this in fact.  The jerk.  How dare he sleep when I cannot.  He should have to go to chapel too.

There’s a lot of stuff I would write about, but can’t, due to people who read this…. The list of things I can’t write about seems to grow more and more every day 🙂  Oh well.  A shame I have to worry about how the things I say make people feel… would be much easier if I didn’t ;).  Ah well.

Maybe one of these days I’ll have a post worth reading again.

Godspeed.

[Edit 1: Ok, so go figure… I don’t say I’ll add more later and I do….  😉  This week is convocation at chapel… and… to put it simply…. this morning’s service was awesome.  I am looking forward to the next one.  So yeah… I am just really happy about that right now and thought I would share it with you.  ;)]

Oh, and this song by Project 86 is really cool…  and Mark Saloman is awesome ;):

“I am lost inside your lair
And allowed you to lure me here
You promised immortality
I’ve become your newest meat
And I am ripe for the feast
Now I am dripping from their mouths
As they say to me:

/’We’ll eat what’s left of you before we’re through’/

The lust for blood within reach
We’ve woken under your feet
No longer
Frightened by these vampires
This situation is clear
No longer clouded by fear
Like cornered dogs we’ll turn and
Bite the hand that feeds but does not kill

/’We’ll eat what’s left of you before we’re through.’/

Sleep and dream
Hiding from the day
Pay no mind to shapes that wind
Around you where you lay there will be time for waking
There will be time for taking
But who?
But you-
Parasites come in many shapes
And you forgot that we have teeth too
While you were feeding off our blood we
Became one of you
There is something coming that you forgot my friend
The very beast that you createis the one who’ll slay you in the end
You thought I’d go down easy
But now you’re coming
With me
With me
With me
You’ll burn with me
You’ll never take us alive.”

Ok, so I added absolutely NOTHING to my post yesterday…  I intended to though.  It’s the thought that counts, right?

Anyway, this is quick, and I have the INTENTIONS of adding more to this throughout the day as well 😉  I have to go to practice for a short scene for acting….It should be pretty cool… today is the first time we have been able to meet.  I also will be doing my first radio shift here on campus today…. immediately following my horrible, horrible test.  Systematic Theology is a terrible thing to subject yourself to come test time.

On another note, my alarm clock is possessed by Satan.  Yesterday I had it set for the right time, and turned on, and everything… and it did NOT go off.  I missed my 8 o’clock class because of it… and ALMOST missed chapel as well.  Today… I had it set in hopes it would go off… but woke up at 9:20 for no apparent reason… so I turn the alarm off, and get out of bed… it was set to go off at 9:40…  come 9:40… the fricking alarm starts going off, even though the switch is in the off position!  Needless to say, I will be buying a new alarm clock sometime this weekend.

Well, gotta run.  Hopefully will have more for you to read later this evening….

More will be added to this post throughout the day, so make sure to check back later!

Ok, so Ben has brought up an interesting point here.  Canadians and their ties to the french.  Now, I would have to say that MOST Canadians really I don’t think have too much of the french stuff in them.  (Perhaps that is where the little bit of weirdness comes from.)  However, I do feel I need to add something to my previous theory in light of this.  My theory completely EXCLUDES French Canadians.  Sorry people of Quebec, but you’re just not gonna cut it for me.

And I just… need to post the lyrics to this song… as it is so fitting to this ongoing topic:

“Welcome to Canada, it’s the Maple Leaf State.
Canada, oh Canada it’s great!
The people are nice and they speak French too.
If you don’t like it, man, you sniff glue.
The Great White North, their kilts are plaid,
Hosers take off, it’s not half bad.
I want to be where yaks can run free,
Where Royal Mounties can arrest me.

Let’s go to Canada, let’s leave today,
Canada, oh, Canada, I Sil Vous Plait.

They’ve got trees, and mooses, and sled dogs,
Lots of lumber, and lumberjacks, and logs!
We all think it’s kind of a drag,
That you have to go there to get milk in a bag.
They say “eh?” instead of “what?” or “duh?”
That’s the mighty power of Canada.
I want to be where lemmings run into the sea,
Where the marmosets can attack me.

Let’s go to Canada, let’s leave today,
Canada, oh, Canada, I Sil Vous Plait.

Please, please, explain to me,
How this all has come to be,
We forgot to mention something here.
Did we say that William Shatner is a native citizen?
And Slurpees made from venison,
That’s deer.

Let’s go to Canada, let’s leave today,
Canada, oh, Canada, I Sil Vous Plait.”

-“Oh, Canada,” by Five Iron Frenzy

So the canadian thing has sparked an interest, eh?

Ok, if you all want to know more about that I can let you know.

Why would I want there to be a system in which Canadian girls marry American guys?  Well, we will start with the most incredibly basic reason there is: Canadian girls are stinking hot!  It seems that this is a characteristic inherited by all candian girls.  They are, by definition, hot.  Or at least, that is how it appears to me at the present time…

Now, the thing you might be worried about is the craziness which also seems inherent in Canadians.  Now, you can put yourself at ease, because the crazy gene does not effect canadian girls NEARLY as much as it effects the Canadian guys.  So therefore, while the Candian girl may seem slightly odd at first, you will soon come to love her slight craziness.  However, it is for this reason that I reccomend to all AMERICAN girls… don’t marry a Canadian guy!  Their craziness is in no way slight and… well.. it’s just plain not a good idea.  You’ll have to stick with the American guys who can’t find themselves a Canadian.

My only other reason for wanting this system is mostly just because… well.. I just generally enjoy Canadian girls.  Especially the ones who I can make fun of for being Canadian and then they in return make fun of me for being American.  It is a wonderful experience and brings me much joy.

So in short… if you are a Canadian girl, and want to marry someone… please let me know (just leave a comment on this post)..  I’ll be sure to get in contact with you as soon as possible to set a date.

Thanks.

So, some things I have decided since my last post:

Computerhq.com SUCKS.  Never order anything from them, unless you are masochistic or something.  Had the hardest stinking time getting them to send my order, then when they DID, They only sent HALF of it… and no claim that the manufacturer of the other thing is out of business and so they need to find it other then from their regular supplier.  Gee, it would have been nice if you told me that you didn’t have it BEFORE I got the package and it wasn’t there.  Or you know… maybe even before you let me order it from you.  It’s not generally considered good business practice to sell things that you don’t have.

I have developed an idea for a new system which works pretty well.  Unless you’re a Canadian guy, then you’re just kinda outta luck.  But that’s ok.  That system is… Canadian girls should marry American guys.  There are many, many reasons for this, which I will not get into now….  but… yeah… that would be wonderful.

Apparently when I give blood, it effects only my brain and makes me think in very strange ways.  Like I was being very weird all monday night….  and I also like.. couldn’t think of the words for very obvious things… I would sit there and see it, and I would try to say the word for it, but nothing would come.  Luckily, I have since recovered.  My blood supply has replenished itself.

I have also found that everyone has apparently stopped commenting on my posts 😉  that last one was up here for 3 days and it only got a total of 4 comments.  Dissappointing to say the least.

Oh.  And I actually got a call back from somewhere about working there.  It would be wonderful to have a job.  So I am going to call them now, before I have to go to class to take a test.

Godspeed.

[edited (at bottom)]

First of all…. the concert was quite wonderful.  Even better then I had expected.

Ever drive down I-4 East with your window all the way down in pouring rain?  I sure have.  It’s quite the experience, I assure you.  I got only slightly wet.  It only was bad when I had to come to an almost complete stop…  then the water poured in ;).

For those that don’t know, no, this was not by choice.  My window has chosen to be stuck in the fully down position, and I have yet to take it to get it fixed.  So when I saw the dark clouds up ahead….  I could only wince and think “why!?  for the love of God, why?!”  but it turned out ok.  However, i must say, it is a better overall driving experience when water is not splashing off the interior of your door and into your eyes.

So if you haven’t figured it out by reading that, I was unable to get a ride with Sara(h?) to the mewithoutYou show.  I had to drive my own car down… and matt and zack came with me.  So not so much as I was hoping might happen happened there…  after we arrived there I talked to her briefly…  she was talking on the phone at first, but then when she got off she came up and say hey and i told her about my rain experience.

gosh… talk about getting shot down 😉  I’m glad that it at least seems like…  and I really hope… it was unintentional…  but… yeah… it was rough. 😉  At the end of the first band’s set… I decided to go talk to her… she was a little bit away from where i was, and so i walked over there…. but when i got there, she was just leaving to go over to where the people she came with were (which happened to be right where I had been beforehand)… anyway, she walked right past me right as i was trying to get her attention.  then i continued to try as she walked over there, but apparently she didn’t hear me.. 😉  then as soon as she got over there and i was trying to get her attention again, her friends and she immediately left to go down like up by the stage… and so…  i made one last desperate attempt and like…  managed to like tap her shoulder… heh.. but she was already too far gone.  I was already out of my element… that didn’t make things any easier 🙂  Anyway, I eventually managed to feel not pathetic enough to go and try and talk to her again…  and I managed to do so.  Anyway, she does seem to be cool.. and i didn’t get to talk to her much, but hopefully I will be able to talk to her and stuff at some point in the near future…  it just needs to be given some more time I think.

Now, as to the concert itself…  opening band was The Young and the Useless…. and they rocked the house 😉  They were seriously impressive.  Watch out for them, tons of potential there.  They were tight.   Only bad thing about them really was… vocalist seemed really really nervous.  You could hear it in his voice when he would talk and see it in his movement…   but otherwise great. mewithoutYou was seriously INCREDIBLE.  I can honestly say I was amazed… that is one of the best shows I have ever seen.  and it had nothing to do with the crowd (cuz the crowd was pretty boring ;))… it was all them.  the vocalist (sorry, i don’t know any of their names ;)) left the stage and went around behind everyone…  and then started screaming again…  he jumped down into the crowd, and like ran around in a pit-like thing that formed…  and grabbed onto somebody and continued screaming… and fell down on the floor… and continued…  haha… it was so great… but you probably had to be there 🙂  Ace Troubleshooter was pretty good too… but I felt both preceeding bands were much more enjoyable.

Then we went to a chinese restraunt where we were horribly out of place cuz we were all in like… concert attire… and everyone else there was at least…  moderately nicely dressed 😉  ah well.

For matt’s account of this little expedition…  go to his site… he is called “Valdeck”.

And I leave you with a wonderful quote that I just heard a few minutes ago on Space Ghost…  haha… 🙂

“friends are just enemies who don’t have the guts to kill you”

Later.

[Edit: Something I didn’t think to post last night for some reason…  in regards to the bands that played.  They were all 3 Christian bands… and the show was in a secular club/bar.  Anyway, I liked how they presented themselves to the crowd… they were very real honest and upfront with people… but were in no way pushy or overbearing.  I think my favorite thing said the whole night was by Aaron (I learned his name 😉  The mewithoutYou vocalist).  He was introducing the song of theirs which happens to be my favorite of theirs… The Cure for Pain.  Anyway, he said the song starts off about sex, and ends up about Jesus…  and then he said “and I’ve found that last part to be a lot more fulfilling”… and after that a bunch of people started to clap and he said no, you don’t need to clap.. and then something along the lines of “i’m not ashamed or anything like that…. well.. i guess, maybe i am.. a little.”  And just the fact that he is willing to be that honest and real I thought was incredible.

“Don’t waste your lips with words I’ve heard before
Kiss my tired head
Each letter written wastes your hand, young man
Come and lead me to your bed.
You gave me hope that I’d not lost her
And then thought it rather strange to see me smile
As I don’t do too much smiling these days.

She put on happiness like a loose dress
Over a pain I’ll never know
“So the peace you had,” she said,
“I must confess I’m glad to see it go.”
We’re two white roses lying frozen just outside his door
I’ve made you so happy and so sad
But which should I be more sorry for?

Come kiss my face goodbye…
The space below my eye, above my cheek
Tho I’m faint and fading fast,
I see a darkness and I shall be released
I’ll pass like a fever from this body
And softly slip into his hands.
I tried to love you and I failed
But I have another plan…

My Lord, how long to sing this song?
And my Lord, how much more
of this pretending to be strong?
When she stands before your throne
Dressed in beauty not her own
All soft and small, you’ll hear her call
“You brought me here,
Now take me home.””
