The date

So you may or may not know the date decided upon for our wedding.  If you don’t, the intent of this post is to inform you that it will be held on July 21st.

It is not too far off at all, and we have a lot of planning to do.

We are presently thinking that a trip to the Bahamas would be quite excellent for a honeymoon.  So far Breezes Bahamas looks like a pretty good place to stay there.

I don’t know what else to tell you about, and really I need to have my brain take a break from this wedding stuff… it’s been fixated on it a lot today.

So… goodbye.

Merry Christmas

Yeah, that’s right, I said it… Christmas.  Not happy holidays or any of this other crap.  And I don’t care if you don’t celebrate Christmas.  I do, so I am going to say Merry Christmas to you.  If that offends you then you’re an idiot.  And I hope that my calling you an idiot offends you, because it’s supposed to.  I hope that maybe if you realize how much of an idiot you are you may someday change your ways.

If you are Jewish, you can tell me Happy Chanukuh.  I promise, I won’t get offended, because I am not an idiot.  I will just say “Happy Chanukah to you too.”  Because even though I don’t celebrate Chanukah, I would very much like to be happy during the time in which Chanukah is being celebrated, and I certainly hope that you will be happy during it too.

This all also goes for any other Holiday you can think of, whether I celebrate it or not.. I just can’t really think of any others.  But uhh.. New Years, Festivus….  to reference a Dane Cook joke, “Nothing Happens When You Die” day….

That’s pretty much it for now then.

So Merry Christmas.  And if you don’t like it, tough.

Engage.

Well, those of you not in this immediate area I suppose are probably still unaware…  so I figured I would post on here that as of yesterday around 4:30 PM EST I am engaged to be wed to the lovely Holly Amber Smith.  She was very shocked and very happy about it (shocked due to my having made her think that such a thing would be quite a ways off.)  Due to it not having been very long since we became engaged, we do not have a date set yet, so, don’t bother asking (at least not for a week or so).  But I imagine it will happen in about the 9 months area… maybe a little less, maybe a little more (but certainly no more than a year).

So I am very happy, and she is very happy, and she has a beautiful new ring to wear on her finger, which I think the ring is perfect, and… she at least tells me it’s perfect 😉  I think she is going to put a pic of it on her myspace or something sometime… yep.

Anyway, that’s all for now. 😉

Another week..

I guess it’s been a week since I last posted so I thought I’d start typing and at least have something on here.

I don’t know what to write about though.

Tomorrow is the weekend.  That’s good.

I need new tires.  That’s lame.  Who wants to spend money on that?  Not me.

Jobless hippie no more.

So all that suiting up paid off I guess.  I just recently recieved a call to inform me that I have been offered the job, and I informed them that I accepted.  So I guess that I start on Monday.

Hurrah!  A job that pays better than my previous job, gives me benefits, AND that I won’t hate!

Things are beginning to look up.

It’s time to suit up.

So, it’s 8:06, that means my interview starts in 54 minutes.  And that means, starting about a half hour ago, it was time to take a shower and suit up.  I actually got a new suit yesterday specially for the occassion…..  and the whole time I was reminded of the relevant episode of How I Met Your Mother that I have alluded to (or quoted, I’m not sure if that’s a direct quotation or not).  Especially because I was joking with Holly before about how I was a hippy because I had long hair and no job, and now I have cut my hair and got a suit and am going for a job interview.  Ah, fun times.

Anyway, I had some extra time, so I thought I’d post about it.  But now I will resume getting ready so that I can not be in a rush when it is time to leave.

Wish me luck if you see this in the next 50 minutes or so.

[edit:

I’m back from the interview…..

Now we play the waiting game….]

Six Flags

So the other day I went to
Six Flags.  Six Flags America.  It was free, due to being IBM’s company
picnic thing…  but….  it was generally a disappointing day.  Got
there probably around 11, started out with the swing ride.  It was ok,
good as swing rides go.  Then we proceeded to the kiddie rides.  I
should clarify who “we” is in this instance.  “We” were Tiffany, Eric,
Ariana, Devin, Liam, and myself.  So Ariana and Devin wanted to get on
some of these rides.  Liam, on the other hand, wanted to do nothing but
go to the waterpark, which was impossible, because the waterpark there
is no longer open this season.  So he refused to get on ANYTHING.

After letting the kids play for awhile, we decided to eat lunch mainly
because Liam was complaining about being hungry.  Now, as this was an
IBM picnic thing, there was free lunch available for us at these
pavilion’s there, which the only way to get to is to use this train thing….  Now, Liam apparently believed that this was a ride despite us telling him multiple times that it was just a train to get to lunch….  so he was screaming and crying before we got on and while we were on and kind of calmed down a little while after it started moving.

We had lunch, which was ok, about what I expected… just burgers and hot dogs and chicken… picnic-like food.  The kids played some games that they had set up there and won a basketball and some footballs.  Then we decided to head back to the actual park so we could get on some real rides.

So on the train ride we started looking at coasters and such wondering what we should get on first.  Then we couldn’t help but notice that EVERYTHING we saw was no longer running.  After getting off the train we began to walk around to see if anything was open…. it all looked closed.  So we asked someone.  Apparently there was a powersurge of some kind which resulted in all but like 3 rides being incapable of operating.  So we waited around awhile for them to come back online, but they didn’t seem to be making any progress.  So we decided to try and get new tickets for a different day and just leave… We found quite a long line outside of guest relations and after standing there awhile someone from the park came up to us and gave us tickets.

So anyway, long story short, I got to ride a grand total of 2 rides, neither of which was particularly amazing.  But I get to go back, this time with Holly, in a week or 2.  It will be fun.

Oh yeah, and I heard something about Tom Cruise renting out the park that night?  I think maybe it was his fault.  And that’s weird.

I have a job interview tomorrow.  Really hoping it goes well…. seems like a pretty great job.

The end.
