The Five Iron show in Orlando had best sell out.  Why?  Cuz I already have my ticket and I just walked around handing out flyers for it like all over campus.  And I’m gonna have to make some more copies in order to hit the rest of it.

I’m hungry.

Later.

For the benefit of any FIF fans not on FIF’s mailing list…. this was sent out a few days ago:

Dear Friends of Five Iron,
We are now less than one week away from the Winners Never Quit farewell tour. It is hard to believe that after 8 years of touring FIF only has 59 shows left…They are really excited to say good bye to all of you guys, so we hope you can make it out. The tickets are selling fast so you should get them soon. They are available for all shows at www.itickets.com Most shows will also have them at the door, but they will be a bit more expensive.
I want to let you know about 3 things that we are planning for the tour that we would like you to participate in.
1. We are going to hook up with Rohi ministries in Kenya, Africa to build a home for street kids. We will be asking each person at the shows to consider donating $1 to the “Five Iron Frenzy rescue center” that we are going to build there after the tour. The goal is to house 100 kids that currently live on the street and eat from the trash. We are really excited to be able to help the kids and want you to participate with us. It is awesome to think how much we can help if everyone will give a dollar…
2. We are going to be recording the final show in Denver on 11/22/03. The cd is going to be called The End Is Here. We will be taking photos from the stage each night of the tour to include in the artwork, so bring a big smile. We will have more info on how you can get a copy of the final show in later emails.
3. I wanted to give the band something special to remember their career, so I came up with the idea of a fan-based scrapbook. I would like to invite each of you to participate by either writing a letter, drawing a picture, maybe a poem??? anything you would want to give to the band as a thank you. The only rule is that it must be on a standard size piece of paper so that it will fit into a 3 ring binder. Please bring your letters to the merch table at the shows and put them in the binder that will be there. This will be a great way to say thank you to a really amazing group of people and one that they can keep forever.
In closing I want to again thank you for all your support over these last 8 years and encourage you to come out and see the band one last time. They will be hanging out both before and after the shows so they can say good-bye to everyone…This really is their last tour, so please dont miss it.

God bless,

You know those inflatable things…  sort of like the bounce house things… but there’s 2 little tracks.. and a bungee cord…  nd you run.. and.. then you give put the little velcro thing as far down it as you can… and then it pulls you back….?  well, anyway, yesterday I did one of those, and I determined it is too easy.  Because… well…  I ran to the end, got some guy’s attention… handed the thing to him…  stood there for a second, and then got pulled back….  In fact, I bet I could have made it off the edge of the thing if I had tried… ‘Tis a shame I did not…..

The inflatable obstacle course type thing was much more difficult then it looked.  After going through it twice I was really stinking tired.  I beat my roommate, was beaten by this guy who I knew would beat me, cuz he went through the thing really stinking fast (he was able to jump from the first wall over the second wall….)…  I only lost by like 2 or 3 seconds though… I guess that’s pretty good.  Then later I went against Karissa, but I was still kind of tired so she beat me… just barely.  😉  That’s my excuse anyway.  Stupid girls.

Shaun Groves did a concert here last night.  Was actually pretty good.  Liked most of the songs.  He was kinda funny..  I liked his Michael W. Smith impression 😉

Then there were fireworks.  Which were really good.  Better then Cornerstone 😉  Overall, I was pleased.

Remember to go to your local Five Iron Frenzy show.

That is all.

Bye.

It is raining again. Rain at the beach is no fun. But oh well, what are you gonna do?

I have been unable to find a guitar pick, as I’m not sure where I packed mine, and no stores seem to have them. The wal-mart here apparently carries everything one could possibly need for a guitar EXCEPT…. a pick. Seirously… a tuner.. strings… a case… instrument cable…. Stupid wal-mart.

Bought a few new cds last night. 2 compilations and one by a band that I had never heard of, called Count the Stars. Got it used for 7 bucks. They’re pretty decent, not great, but.. yeah. Maybe it’ll grow on me.

Still no new phone, haven’t gotten around to looking for one yet. If it remains rainy today maybe I will do that.

That’s all for now.

I am in Panama City.

It is raining.

And thundering.

And lightning.

So I have come inside to avoid electrocution and death.

My cell phone is broken. If you have tried to call me since Friday evening and been unable to, that is why. It fell in some water and drowned.

I will have a new one soon. As soon as I can get to a Best Buy or other cell phone selling store, anyway.

It is very sad, but… I guess… I will just have to go on with a different phone.

My car’s check engine light came on yet again. Apparently my car hates me and/or is dying. It did, however, cross the 100,000 mile threshhold on the way down here. That was pretty exciting. mewithoutyou was playing at the time, and it was in that instrumental part… and then right after it crossed over the music picked up and then vocals started… it was timed perfectly, and was awesome in every way. It’s a shame I am the only one who got to experience it.

The waves here are pretty cool. Really nice for bodyboarding…. seen some people out surfing, too.

Anyway, I am now able to take a shower, and so i am going to. Sand and ocean water don’t really feel too pleasent.

Well, in a few more hours I will be heading off towards Panama City (which, contrary to popular assumption, is in Florida, not Panama… although I guess more likely then not there is also a Panama City in Panama… but regardless, no, I am not going to Panama ;))…. It will be a long drive, but that’s ok. I can listen to music for a long time… and force my mom to drive my car while I sleep. 😉 That’ll be a good time.

I hate packing. So I always put it off to the last possible moment. I just packed for like the last 2 hours…. I am not done. (note that I am packing for college, not just this trip, if you don’t know that). It is terrible. And I will forget tons of stuff, because I always do.

Ah well.

May or may not post this next week… I’m sure I will be able to get on the internet, but I doubt I’ll spend much time at all doing it while at the beach… so… if I don’t… You’ll certainly hear from me once I get to school. 😉

As a final note, if I didn’t say bye to you, then… i guess… bye. I am not sorry that I didn’t do it in person, because, it is your own fault. I feel no obligation whatsoever to hunt you down and say bye 😉

All right then. So uhhh… bye.
