Ok… now tell me… how ridiculous is this?

Ok, how many people think that it is Sony’s fault that this kid killed himself?  Ok, those of you that raised your hand may now click the back button and GO AWAY because you’re too stupid to be reading my site.  Seriously, if the game Everquest was conducive to suicide, considering the number of people that play it I’m sure we would have a much bigger epidemic on our hands.  The kid had mental problems.  Is it possible that maybe something in the game contributed to his choice to kill himself?  Yes, it’s possible.  But that doesn’t make Sony at fault.  That’s like saying if a serial killer becomes a serial killer because he saw it in a movie, that that movie is to blame for his becoming a serial killer.  No, sorry, that is not the case.  It is just stupid to me that such an idea could even be considered.  It’s a terrible thing that it happened… but Sony is not to blame…… and perhaps if the mom noted this bad influence the game was having on him, SHE who KNEW about his mental condition should have stopped him from playing it……  but you know, we can’t consider that option…..
