16 days…

So… tonight was the start of the Fear Factor thing at Oasis…. 😉

I’m sure you are all familiar with the show. If you are like me, you see much of the stuff that happens on it… and you think…. “eh, that’s not so bad, I could do that.”…

Well, earlier tonight, I proved that I indeed can. Or at least, the eating incredibly nasty things portion of it.

There are 2 more nights of it to go…. and I think 5 of us remain. What did we have to do in order to remain? 😉

First, there was the matter of eating duck feet. While this sounds rather disgusting, it really wansn’t all that bad. It was mostly just the idea of it that made it seem sick. Surprisingly, this is when the majority of people were eliminated…. including Jason Brown, who previously was quite confident that he would win 😉

The second thing was to eat another part of a duck… the tongue. To be precise, we had to eat 4 of them. This was the least bad of all the things that we had to eat. No one was eliminated… clearly all the wussy people were eliminated in the first round 😉

Next we had to draw 2 random things that we would have to eat (out of 5 options)…. Personally, I got the “hundred year old egg” and “whole dried fish”. the egg was incredibly nasty. It looked like, smelled like, and tasted like, a rotten hard-boiled egg. I don’t know what is actually done to these eggs to make them this way…. But whoever is doing it needs to be stopped. The fish wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, but was pretty bad, as is evidenced by Kyle’s throwing up when he had to do it. It was way salty… and really crunchy… and uhh… it’s a whole fish… so.. i had to eat the head and eyes and stuff too. mmmmm…

The other possibilies were “Extreme Hot Wings” which were apparently pretty stinking hot… but I still think they shouldn’t have been included… cuz that’s not really nasty… just… hot. And then ummm… jellyfish… which seemed to be difficult to eat…. and uhhh… bitter melon. Which only one person had to eat, and he assured us it was the worst of all the things eaten tonight. I believe him, simply because everything else he downed effortlessly, and that gave him pause 😉

Now, after this, we thought it was over, and we were done… (a few people were eliminated, by the way)… but no… we still had one more to go… Are you ready for this? Silk worm larvae. This was really and truly disgusting. The idea of it, the smell of it, the taste of it. It was next to impossible to swallow…. choked on it several times trying to…. ALMOST threw up (had no problem with anything else)… but yeah… stood up and ran to the trash can… felt it coming up, but through sheer force of will I swallowed it back down. I mean, I couldn’t very well throw it up and lose after eating all that other crap. That was in fact the only reason I ate the larvae at all. I don’t do things for nothing. 😉

Anyway, I’m hoping that there will be no more nasty things to eat. I think I have proven that I can eat pretty much everything. I only hope they can’t manage to get their hands on anything nastier then that 😉

But hey, I’m gonna get $200 for it… so I guess it’s worth it (note how I have already decided that I am winning. Like I said…. I don’t do stuff like that for nothing. I refuse to walk away empty-handed ;)).

Oh yeah, I got my electric guitar back. It works.

My car also works, but now my little rear view mirror adjuster thing is gone. They broke it… the jerks. So now I am going to have to make them fix it.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I am going to go brush my teeth again… maybe throw up a little bit…. and then go to sleep. 😉

Godspeed.

  1. Jason all I can say is that you are pretty freaking amazing for eating all of that!  It was absolutely foul and I would not have touched most of it.  And yes I agree that the extreem hot wings should not have been included!  So…go throw up and be happy once again!

  2. jason- i am truly stunned. a whole dried fish? all this at oasis? and the point is to win $200? all i can say is, thomas will be SO excited to go to oasis next june! sounds like his kind of place. his future bro in law dared hime to drink a glass of dishwater with some unspeakable things in it for $50 as they did the dishes… fortunetly, i walked into the kitchen just in time to rain on their parade…. p.s: go throw up again!

  3. i was really surprised that nick wussed out on the first round too.  you & him went at it that one night for a loooooong time with that nasty sugar concoction.  i believe in you…. you’re gonna win.   (by the way, Lisa declared that you have to take her to dinner for her being your cheerleader)
