BANZAI!!!!!!!

hahaha 🙂 What did I ever do without this show? I have to say, i was incredibly excited when i first saw that Fox was bringing it back

But I mean seriously… where else can you guess whether it will take 30, 60, 90, or 120 balloons attached to a chicken to make it float away? 😉 or 2 guys joust in shopping carts? or shake-hands-man, who sees how long someone will let him shake their hands? or a lady that asks one question and then just stands there holding the microphone out to the guy until he “Feels so much shame” he walks away. OR 2 old ladies playing chicken in electric wheel chairs 😉

“this is one bad day for the catholics… the pope is not going to be happy tonight.”

Sorry, i thought that was really funny when the preist lost the last contest 😉

AAAAAAAA!!! BANZAI!!!!!!!

Seriously… if you don’t turn on fox at 8:30 next sunday… something is wrong with you 🙂

My car battery died at Sheetz today. That was annoying. But I think there is a new one in my car now, as my dad came and got my keys from me a little bit ago. So that is good. Now I don’t have to worry about it not starting anymore 😉

Why do I have to go to work tomorrow? That’s no fun. Stupid work.

I have more to write about, but not here 😉 Actually, this is the first time I’ve been inspired to write on my “secret page” in quite some time. Maybe I will make a new one even.. I don’t know ;).

Banzai!

I put up a new pic. I was tired of the one from when my hair was purple.

No one commented on my post from yesterday. That is sad. Oh well 🙂

I wanted to do something tonight other then watch a movie but for some reason people do no believe in answering their phones anymore. I called like everyone I know and only 4 people answered, 3 of which, interestingly enough, were watching movies. The other one was Jon, who “didn’t know” if he was doing anything. This of course could easily be translated to “i am going to go do something with devon” 😉

So clearly part of the problem here is the female gender. They have disrupted the delicate balance… and now everything is falling out of place. It is all about balance….

Not that I’d be entirely opposed to one of them disrupting MY balance…

Movies:
Terminator 3: Pretty good. Depressing. Sucky future inevitable.
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: The movie with an extraordinarily long title. Pretty good, for the most part. Not depressing.
Pirates of the Carribean: Good. If Johnny were writing this he would comment on it being rated “ARRRRRRR!” and uhh… it was also pretty amusing.

The downstairs area of my house echoes now. It was way weird when I came in the house and closed the door. Creepy even.

Goodnight.

I think I’ve listened to that cd so many times that that backmasking has been forever ingrained in my subconcious.

I am going to sleep now.

Goodnight.

“An idea dies in the same slight way that we lose track of the facts.
Slowly, unseen, slipping silently, through some fabricated cracks.
And now the freedom of the press,
Has turned to freedom to impress.
Perfect hair, sells products well,
like suffocating, sickly smells,
The make-up smears, like false pastels,
Like glossy, sugarcoated cells.

Tune in, tune out, goodbye, goodnight.
They’re buying you with fear and lies.
Turn it off until it’s right,
That’s the news, that’s all, goodnight.

The advertising dollars buy, the right to stifle antonynms,
To sterilize the truth with fiction, so we can sing their corporate hymns.
And all of us were cowed and bought it,
Hardly anybody got it.
While mergers made their spires grow taller
What they let you know grew smaller.
And we were scared, or too bemused,
and so we still turned on the news.

Tune in, tune out, goodbye, goodnight.
They’re buying you with fear and lies.
Turn it off until it’s right,
That’s the news, that’s all, goodnight.

(are you scared? we want you to be… you are our loyal customer… we’ll keep you coming back for more… are you scared? you should be.)

Tune in, tune out, goodbye, goodnight.
They’re buying you with fear and lies.
Turn it off until it’s right,
That’s the news, that’s all, goodnight.”

Well, I am still sick, but I managed to go to work today. Still have a slight fever, am hoping I will actually feel better tomorrow.

Oh yeah, my car wouldn’t start this morning. It was real low on gas before I went to Cornerstone… apparently the little bit that was left evaporated or something… so I took my mom’s van to work today. ooh… exciting 😉

So now that Cornerstone is over I have 2 things as my driving force for desire to do work 😉 (just getting money doesn’t work. I don’t really care about the money itself, but rather, what fun things I can do as a result of it.) The one is going to Denver to see the last FIF show, and the other is the simple fact that after tomorrow, there is just… I think 5 weeks left…. ah… how sweet it will be to never have to return there again.

Anyway, I’m done with this post now… later 😉

I hate being sick.

I didn’t go to work today…. I am hoping I won’t feel as bad tomorrow and will be able to get myself to go.

I spent a little bit of time today trying to figure out the whole trip to denver to see five iron’s last show. I figured out some basic costs and stuff. If anyone reading this is planning on going out to that, let me know.

Tickets are on sale at Ticketmaster now… have been for about 2 weeks I think. I reccomend getting a ticket ASAP. Keith of FIF has also posted a really cool guide to Denver on his website. I suggest checking it out: http://www.hometown.aol.com/keithfrenzy.

Umm.. other then that… The Hot Chick is a pretty not-funny movie… it has a couple funny parts, but is mostly boring. Also, “They” is not very scary. And it doesn’t have a very good plot. Or good acting. I didn’t like it. 2 bad movies in one day… that’s kinda rough. Oh well.

Now… If you are Heather, go check your e-mail, I am about to e-mail you some stuff about the whole Denver thing… if you are someone else…. umm.. you can check your e-mail if you want to, but you probably won’t have mail from me, as I have no plans to write e-mail to anyone else at this time 😉

Godspeed.
And I hope you aren’t sick like me.

“I have been scarred so deep by life and cold despair,
And brittle bones were broken far beyond repair.
I have leveled lies so deep the truth may never find,
And inside my faithless heart, I stole things never mine.

If mercy falls upon the broken and the poor,
Dear Father, I will see You, there on distant shores.

I have toiled for longest years and ever felt the cost,
And I’ve been burned by this world’s cold, like leaves beneath the frost.
On my knees I’ve crawled to you, bleeding myself dry,
But the price of life is more, than I could ever buy.

If mercy falls upon the broken and the poor,
Dear Father, I will see You, there on distant shores.

And off of the blocks, I was headstrong and proud,
At the front of the line for the card-carrying, hightbrowed.
With both eyes fastened tight, yet unscarred from the fight.
Running at full tilt, my sword pulled from it’s hilt.
Its funny how these things can slip away, our frail deeds, the last will wave good-bye.
It’s funny how the hope will bleed away, the citadels we build and fortify.
Good-bye.

Night came and I broke my stride,
I swallowed hard but never cried.
When grace was easy to forget,
I’d denounce the hypocrites,
Casting first stones,
Killing my own.
You would unscale my blind eyes,
And I stood battered, but more wise,
Fighting to accelerate,
Shaking free from the crippling weight.
With resilience unsurpassed,
I clawed my way to You at last.
And on my knees,
I wept at your feet,
I finally believed,
That You still loved me.

Healing hands of God have mercy on our unclean souls once again.
Jesus Christ, Light of the world, burning bright within our hearts forever.
Freedom means love without condition, without a beginning or an end.
Here’s my heart, let it be forever Yours,
Only You can make every new day seem so new.”

-“On Distant Shores,” by Five Iron Frenzy

hey again. i have now had a chance to sleep, and do some other stuff, so I figured I would write some more stuff here.

I have presently found out that I have a slight fever (99.7, but since I rarely have a fever even when I am sick that is still saying something… heh)… I guess that hardly sleeping and being outside for a week will do that to you. I will hopefully not still feel sick in the morning, because I am going to force myself to go to work, and hopefully will not have to come home early.

Lets see… I said I would talk about Cornerstone… it was a lot of fun… if you didn’t go, you missed out 🙂 This year I took a new approach, I tried to see a lot of bands and stuff I have never seen before or who I wouldn’t normally see. It mostly had good results… there’s nothing I regret seeing, at least. Among those things was something called The Dark Forest, an Oratorio (story set to music)… I liked it a lot, Jason Brown liked it a lot… Elliot and Nick apparently didn’t like it so much, but that’s ok… and no one else saw it, so I don’t know what they would have thought. But anyway, it was cool and different. Ask for the cd sometime if you want to hear it.

I missed Delirous, but saw Unwed Sailor. That was a kinda tough call.

I missed Brave Saint Saturn cuz they weren’t really scheduled to play but played when someone else didn’t show up and I was over at the other stage watching some other band.

Oh yeah, I bought the new Five Iron cd, “The End is Near” there. It is really cool. You should buy it. You can mail-order it from www.themobilemessage.org. Or you could wait until they come play a show near you and buy it there. Or wait until next year sometime and buy it in a store. But only lame people do that.

The most expensive thing I bought was the $50 4 cd set of Jacobstone live. There were only 10 of them made. 3 of them are now in Frederick, MD. A 4th one is in PA. I do not know where the others are, but that’s a pretty high concentration there… 😉

If you are Karissa, I have a Miranda Stone Live cd to give you, so don’t go getting impatient and buying it somewhere. Speaking of which, the Miranda Stone show was actually pretty cool. I enjoyed it, except I had some complaints with this one guy in the crowd who felt the need to stand up right in front of me while everyone else was sitting down. Oh yeah, and apparently Miranda Stone (or whoever makes her shirts) believes that all her fans are either anorexic or incredibly obese. The small girlie t-shirt they had I don’t think would have fit a 5 year old… 😉 and then the next biggest shirt they had was stinking enormous. Like it would be big on… I dunno… some really really fat guy.

Also, there were many references to Homestar Runner at cornerstone this year. Even in addition to Jon’s obsession with Trogdor and burninating during the whole trip. About 5 references were made by bands, I think, 3 of which I distinctly remember who said it and what they said. Lets see… of the 3 I remember, Miranda Stone made the first one… she made reference to the Stong Bad E-mail about a href=”http://www.homestarrunner.com/sbemail45.html”>Techno (click on Techno to see it). And then Reese Roper of five iron mentioned how they were trying to achieve Burnination (another reference to Trogdor), and finally, Switchfoot denounced rumors that The Cheat would be making a guest appearance at their show.

One night people shot bottle rockets at each other. That was pretty entertaining.

Ummm… Other stuff will come later, I’m kind of sick of writing at the moment. Bye now.

And if you were wondering how Five Iron’s story ends… here you go. Go buy the cd. And you’ll only find this funny if you know stuff about them.. so.. yeah

“Once upon a midnight dreary,
While I pondered weak and weary,
Suddenly there came a tapping,
As of someone gently rapping.
Long ago I heard that sound,
Often lost, but seldom found,
A haunting voice from minutes past,
Micah had returned at last.

And I was like, “what’s up dude?”,
And he was like, “Uhhh, I found your comb.”
And then I was like “Shut-Up!”
And then he was like, “Yeah, and stuff.”
And then I was like, “Rock on!”

And that’s how the story ends,
Now you hear the score my friends.
We’re finding answers, we’re setting trends.
I guess that’s how the story ends.

How distinctly I remember,
It was in the bleak December,
And each dying ember,
Wrought it’s ghost upon the floor.
I heard a voice that chilled my spine,
I saw what I could not define,
A sight I never could contrive,
There stood Brad at last, alive.
“Where have you been these endless years?”
I asked him, sobbing through my tears,
“I did not die by plague or prison
What really died is cynicism.”

And then I said, “Awesome.” And he was like, “Yeah, I guess. And by the way, those pants,
They belong to my dad.
And they’re not really pants, they’re leiderhosen.”
Hooray!

And that’s how the story ends,
Now you hear the score my friends.
We’re finding answers, we’re setting trends.
I guess that’s how the story ends.

And Combat Chuck has passed away,
his dying wish was
“never play that song again.”
And kitty-Doggy’s put to sleep,
The dinosaurs lay in heap,
as they slowly go extinct, like me.

And that’s how the story ends,
Now you hear the score my friends.
We’re finding answers, we’re setting trends.
I guess that’s how the story ends.”

Well, I am back from Cornerstone. It was fun. I will tell you about it sometime, but that sometime is not now. I am however a little disappointed to find only one comment left for me here… and no e-mails… even from the couple people i wrote before i left. ah well. and my monitor just did something very weird when i went to karen’s xanga site….. it was actually kind of frightening. She is most surely evil incarnate.

I heard a great song about Chris Carabba at Cornerstone…. this is the last line of it… it’s all I remember of the words…

“Your hair is everywhere,
and that’s kind of disgusting,
when you really think about it….”
