Day Eighty-One

81! That mean’s 9 days left…

My scale’s batteries crapped out on me this morning, and then I forgot to get new ones… I took the old ones out and put them back in and it’s working again for now, but, I’m sure time is short for them. Need some new ones.

Didn’t run – super humid out, and also rainy… oh well. I’ll go into Sunday’s 5k well rested at least. Hoping I’ll be able to do the whole thing without stopping – if it’s flatter than my normal route, that might be possible.

Anyway, that’s it for tonight. 81…. ‘The Eighty-One Brothers’ is a Japanese fable. I know nothing about it. If it wasn’t so late, I’d spend time looking it up and tell you something about it… but, this time around, you’re on your own. Google it!

Day Eighty

80. Woah. 8/9 of the way there. 10 days remaining. The home stretch. The final countdown.

Today was mostly uneventful. Weigh-in was a new low, which I always like. We’ll see if I get to where the app says I should by Saturday.

Tomorrow I will do my last run before this weekend’s 5k. Hoping it goes decently. Looks like rain… hopefully it’ll be a light rain? If so, that usually actually makes the run pretty nice. If it’s a heavy rain… then… maybe I won’t be able to get another run in before the 5k. Should be OK either way I think.

Anyway, that’s all I’ve got to say.

Now, as for 80: It was the length of the Eighty Years War (remarkably enough).

Day Seventy-Nine

79! Man, I started this thing a long time ago.

Have you ever heard someone say something like, when you have a goal, you should imagine yourself like 2 or 3 months from now, and think of how far along you would be in that goal then if you started now? Or kind of the reverse, imagine if you still haven’t started 2 or 3 months from now, and then you thought back on that moment when you could have begun. Yeah, it’s really true. Despite the fact that at times the weight loss has been frustratingly slow, or at least that’s how it felt to me, I really have gotten further in this time than I think I really expected even.

I just finished my first run in… awhile. And the 5k I’m doing is this Sunday! Hopefully it’s a flat(ish) course, if so I probably have a decent chance of jogging the whole way instead of having to walk for a bit. I’m only going to have a chance for one more run before it (Thursday). If it’s not flat, then, I will probably spend some time walking. It is what it is. Hopefully by the time of the Turkey Trot I’ll actually be able to get a decent 5k in reliably. I’ll most likely have added at least a few carbs back into my diet by then.

If you’re wondering where I am weight-wise right now, I’m hovering around 183 at the moment…  my little app that averages out the weights I enter every day and makes predictions says I should be 180.6 by Saturday. That would be great, because if it does happen than I’ll be in the 170’s by the end of my 90 days.

Ok.. anyway, 79! It was the year that Mount Vesuvius erupted.

Day Seventy-Eight

78! I’m knocking this one out a bit earlier than usual just because… I forgot to do one the other day and I don’t want to forget again. And I doubt anything particularly noteworthy will happen later this evening.

I’m gonna do my first run in awhile tomorrow night – I could probably do it today, but when I’ve been sick I like to wait until the day AFTER I’m feeling up to it again before I resume running, just to be sure of such things. I have a 5k coming up here real soon as well – Actually I’m not sure if it’s this Sunday or next. I’ll find out. In any case, it should be fine – even if I have to walk for a bit of it *shrugs* whatever.

I made a bunch of soup today – I don’t normally do much in the way of soup, but, I think I’ve been eating the same sort of stuff long enough that having some soup is a nice way to change things up – I had a bit of it while I was sick and that sort of gave me a taste for it I guess.

Anyway… 78! The total number of gifts in the song The Twelve Days of Christmas.

Day Seventy-Seven

77! Alright! I didn’t forget tonight! We’re already off to a better start than last time.

So I’m in the final 2 weeks of my 90 day commitment now. I’ve had some ups and downs, thankfully the hard times during the diet have been relatively few. Now that I’m here, it feels like the time has gone by pretty fast. But I probably shouldn’t speak too soon… surely a lot can happen in just under 2 weeks.

I decided to again try on what I think might be my smallest jeans… barring possibly if I still have some jeans that I had back in college (If I still have those, I’m not sure where they are). They fit now! I also tried on a shirt I’ve owned for 3 years but never worn other than to try it on to see how it fit. It also fits! I still have a decent ways to go to reach my goal…  Basically another 18 pounds. But I’ve come a long way. Obviously that goal isn’t going to happen in 2 weeks… I won’t hit that 174 marker in 2 weeks probably either… but that’s OK. Things did seem to speed up this week though… if that continues through the next couple weeks, the chances of me extending this are pretty good. I mean, I want to eat and drink some of the things I’ve been off of for awhile, but if it keeps feeling not that hard to continue, and the weight keeps coming steadily off, then why mess with it? We’ll see. On Day Ninety I’ll make some kind of decision.

Anyway, 77! In certain numerological systems based on the English alphabet, the number 77 is associated with Jesus Christ. CHRIST is C = 3, H = 8, R = 18, I = 9, S = 19, T = 20, which added together equal 77.

Day Seventy-Six

76! Was yesterday… oops. I totally forgot to post before I crashed last night. Oh well.

So I’m gonna keep this quite short. I had another new low for my weigh in yesterday, which was kind of shocking. There had been a brief uptick the day before, but things have been moving a lot more steadily that last week than they have been prior.

Alright, so 76. I’m doing this one off the top of my dead. 1776 is the year we adopted and signed the declaration of independence!

Day Seventy-Five

75!  Another day down.

I’m pretty close to being done with being sick for the most part I think? I still feel like my mouth/throat is pretty dry, and have a cough, and don’t really feel like I have the energy for more than just… regular stuff, but, getting there. Hopeful that sometime this weekend I’ll get back to 100%. It’s a 3 day-er, so, yeah.

Diet goes well – I pretty much just did one big meal and a couple snacks. Like I’ve always said with this diet, I don’t really get hungry too often.

Anyway, yeah, that’s it, so… 75. It’s apparently the age limit for Canadian senators. Our friends in the great white north feel that those over 75 are simply… too old. Apparently.

Day Seventy-Four

74! Another day down… So, I definitely am feeling much better today, though I am still sick. The fatigue I was feeling in the previous 48 hours was not present today. Just a cough and some drainage and whatnot. So I was able to get into work. Tomorrow I will work from home, and then it’s a 3 day weekend thanks to Columbus day.

Diet continues to go very nicely… I think I’m probably due for an uptick and/or a stall any day now, so I’m trying to mentally prepare for it. But, hopefully I’m wrong. It’d be nice for the weight to just keep dropping for a bit after all the stalling that was going on.

Anyway, 74.  You know what? Just watch this video about it being written as the sum of 3 cubes.

Day Seventy-Three

73! So the last few days have been kind of a blur, due to being sick and such… I’m really gonna try to push myself to go to work tomorrow. Then I’ll close out the week with a work from home day.

Today was kind of similar to yesterday in that I watched a couple horror movies… this time Hereditary (kind of weird… not really scary at all, in my opinion) and The Lodgers (More typical of a horror movie, also not really particularly scary)..

Still no running, and I don’t see a run happening before Saturday in the best case scenario… Not gonna run when I’m sick.

Diet is still doing its thing, and I’m adhering to it. It’s less than 3 weeks left at this point, which is kinda crazy.

Anyway, 73! The number of books in the Catholic Bible.
