Day Seventy-Three

73! So the last few days have been kind of a blur, due to being sick and such… I’m really gonna try to push myself to go to work tomorrow. Then I’ll close out the week with a work from home day.

Today was kind of similar to yesterday in that I watched a couple horror movies… this time Hereditary (kind of weird… not really scary at all, in my opinion) and The Lodgers (More typical of a horror movie, also not really particularly scary)..

Still no running, and I don’t see a run happening before Saturday in the best case scenario… Not gonna run when I’m sick.

Diet is still doing its thing, and I’m adhering to it. It’s less than 3 weeks left at this point, which is kinda crazy.

Anyway, 73! The number of books in the Catholic Bible.

Day Seventy-Two

72! Ever and ever closer to the end… Diet-wise today has been just fine, but as I mentioned yesterday, I caught some sort of virus or something… I am definitely sick and it’s sort of sapped me of energy. I ended up staying home from work and am unsure about tomorrow at this point.

It’s actually been a really long time since I took a sick day. So I had gone to bed pretty early last night, woke up to my alarm but sent a message to call out and went straight back to sleep, didn’t wake back up until around 9. Watched a movie (I’ve decided to watch a bunch of horror movies this October), then hopped on the computer for a bit… didn’t take long for me to feel I needed to lay back down, so I watched another movie. The two movies in question were The Conjuring and Insidious.

Last night I had some pretty crazy dreams, as I often do when I am sick. I’m not actually sure if it’s the sickness or the nyquil (If I feel sick at all, I’ll take Nyquil before going to sleep), or maybe a combination, but it pretty much always happens. I was a bit confused when in one of them I was waking up, and I was sick, but I was at my parents’ house. That happened after I had already woken up here in my apartment once. It seemed very real, I was a bit concerned about if I had actually called out from work or if that had been a dream.

Anyway, so 72! Seventy-two is the sum of four consecutive primes (13 + 17 + 19 + 23). So stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

Day Seventy-One

71! So the diet is still going fine, but I seem to have come down with some sort of sickness. Probably just a cold or something, hopefully it passes quickly. Went to work today, we’ll see what happens tomorrow – hopefully it doesn’t get worse.

To be honest, I’m kind of surprised it took this long into the diet, I find that most of the time if I try to start a diet or start running I will almost immediately get sick. Possibly just a coincidence, but it seems like that has happened a lot.

At any rate, being sick is keeping me from getting a very overdue run in…

But at least the diet is still going well.

Anyway, 71…Ā  The registry of the U.S. Navy’s nuclear aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71)

Day Sixty-Nine

69! Another day closer to completing this thing…I’m clocking in this post a little late as I had a late night.

Diet continues to go pretty great – even going out to eat and such I’ve been able to stick with it.

I don’t really have much to say, and I’m tired, so let’s get to the number fact.

69. It’s the number that Bill & Ted were thinking of.

Day Sixty-Eight

68! Made it to the end of another work week… and it actually didn’t rain today, which is pretty amazing.

I guess there isn’t really too much to say – Diet goes well, running should be happening tomorrow so long as I have time to squeeze it in – will be a busy day. If not, then Sunday.

I’m expecting a good weigh-in tomorrow morning.

And so, I guess I’ll get on with the number fact. 68…Ā  I’ve actually never heard on this one… (though, am familiar with the term 86)… In the restaurant industry, 68 may be used as a code meaning “put back on the menu”, being the opposite of 86 which means “remove from the menu”.

Day Sixty-Seven

67! I’m not sure if I’m counting the number of days I’ve been on this diet or the number of days in a row that it’s been raining…

I’m happy to report that the uptick in the weight is finally over, and in fact it dropped to a new low today – I have no idea what is responsible for that – I’m sure there must be some scientific explanation. A few days from now, it will probably uptick again, and I’ll be annoyed and frustrated all over again. Oh well.

So, 67. The number of the laps of the German Grand Prix since 2002 if the race was held at Hockenheimring.

Day Sixty-Six

66! It keeps steadily increasing… which I guess is to be expected.

Today was a pretty good day except I had to postpone my run due to a storm that was coming through during the time I was going to run – tomorrow I have plans to go to a movie and I’m not sure if I can squeeze in a run beforehand – I’ll have to gauge when I get back from work tomorrow. But, if I can’t squeeze it in then, more than likely I’ll have to skip the wed/thu run and just do my weekend run.

Today seemed like an easier day than the last couple, I hope that continues, but, I’m sure it will fluctuate.

Anyway, 66. I’m literally going to copy/paste from Wikipedia today:

U.S. RouteĀ 66 (USĀ 66 or RouteĀ 66), also known as the Will Rogers Highway, the Main Street of America or the Mother Road, was one of the original highways within the U.S. Highway System. USĀ 66 was established on November 11, 1926, with road signs erected the following year. The highway, which became one of the most famous roads in the United States, originally ran from Chicago, Illinois, through Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona before ending in Santa Monica, California, near Los Angeles, covering a total of 2,448 miles (3,940Ā km). It was recognized in popular culture by both the hit song “(Get Your Kicks on) Route 66” and the RouteĀ 66 television show in the 1960s.

Day Sixty-Five

65! Getting closer and closer to the end… and I’ll be honest, I’m feeling like I want to change things up these past few days. But I won’t. Not until I’ve met the 90 day commitment.

Sticking to the diet today was pretty easy, no temptations or anything like that. Really both times I ate it was just kind of… because it was time to eat. Note that in the morning I am typically just doing a bulletproof coffee in lieu of food – for those of you who don’t know, that’s a cup of coffee in which is mixed 1-2 tablespoons of MCT oil and 1-2 tablespoons of butter. I typically will do 2 of each, so there’s probably something in the neighborhood of 400 calories in it, so it’s enough to get one through the morning.

Stagnation continues today, which I find to be pretty annoying. That’s a big part of why I want to change things up, I feel like my body has adjusted to what I am doing.

Anyway… 65. There’s not really anything interesting about this number out there that a quick google search can find… so we’re going with: The traditional retirement age in the US and some other countries.

Day Sixty-Four

64. Oh man, I almost forgot about this. Posting real quick before I head to bed.

Diet goes ok – another scale uptick – super annoying – Hopefully it goes back down.

Here’s hoping for a good day tomorrow.

64… 64… that’s the total number of black and white squares on a chess board!
